Rockpool Bar and Grill

This might be kinda weird for me to say it but I reckon girls have more fun going to sexy stuff like Sexpo together. Shoe Queen, Makeup Queen and I decided to ditch our hubbies for the day and went to Sexpo in the afternoon then a show called “Princes of the Night” at Crown together. Talk about a whole day of SexyTime!

I must admit Sexpo is more boring than I thought it would be, other than a Fireman calendar (it’s for raising money for the Children’s hospital I swear!), we left empty handed.

Time to fill our bellies with food! Since we are watching the show at Crown we decided to go to Rockpool Bar and Grill.

photo 1 [640x480]Thank god we arrived early, cos there was a line forming even before the doors are open. Once it’s open, we were quickly escorted to the dark and sexy bar area.  Sadly they kinda left us there and we had to work quite hard to wave them down.

They are friendly enough when taking our orders, however when it comes to delivery, this is where the service slipped.  Firstly, they forgot Shoe Queen’s diet coke.  Thankfully, they didn’t charge us for it.  Secondly, we saw the waiter serving bread and butter to several tables, but not ours.  I am not sure whether it’s because what we have ordered or not, but after waiting for ages, we decided to ask them for some bread.  They seemed pretty abrupt about being asked and served us the bread without a word.

photo 2 [640x480]Time for our mains.  From the bar menu we selected the David Blackmore’s Full Blood Wagyu Hamburger with Bacon, Gruyere Cheese and Zuni Pickle $24.  I wasn’t too sure how to eat this thing but I have decided to stop pretending to be a lady and use my hands!  Mauahhahahahaa :D  The burger was absolutely delicious.  The brioche bun was soft and buttery, the burger beef was medium rare and juicy.  Better Huxtaburger?  Hell yes!  But for $24 a pop you would expect that.

photo 3 [640x480]For sides, I ordered Onion Rings with House-Made Ketchup $9.  We all agreed that the onion rings ain’t that great.  It was just too oily.   The homemade ketchup, on the other hand, was yumgasmic.  I wish I could take a whole bottle home and I am not even a big fan of ketchups!

photo 4 [640x480]The hand cut chips $12 was quite nice.  The chips were fluffy in the inside and it was nicely seasoned.  It was also fantastic with the ketchup, but sadly the chips doesn’t actually come with the ketchup, which made it a little bit dry when eaten on its own.

Now I know we dined at the bar area, but for the price  we were paying for burgers I really expect better service and better food than this.  Would I visit again?  Meh, probably not if I could help it.  7.5/10
