photo 1 [640x480]“You always have to take me to food places where I have go into a small lane lined with rubbish bins!” P.Mummy jokingly said.   “Is this place even open?”  asked P.Diddy dubiously.  Yes, it is open… at least that’s what the sign said.  Well at least we are in the right place… I think.

This is my first foray to Krimper, after running out of ideas of where to take my parents.  Having taken P.Mummy to Bowery to Williamsburg, Hardware Societe, The Grain Store and P.Diddy to Threefold, Cummulus Inc… I wanted to try somewhere different.

photo 2 [640x480]Thankfully my parents’ frown turned into delighted smile when they saw the huge warehouse space and a warm smile from our waitress.  There are some seriously cool stuff in Krimper, although I didn’t manage to capture it from my iPhone- oh well you will just have to check it out yourself!

I chose this little cosy container space for my parents overlooking the coffee machine.  They serve Mork Chocolate and Proud Mary coffee.  I ordered a soy mocha, which meant I got the best of both worlds 😉

Apparently Krimper participates in the Good Food Month so there is a promotion of $20 for a selection of three brekkie (egg benny, polenta fritters and french toast) plus coffee/ tea/ hot chocolate.  Awesome!  We ordered one of each so we could try everything!

photo 3 (2) [640x480]Apologies about the photo, that space inside the container did not have the best lighting for food.  P.Mummy’s egg benedict comes with smokey pulled ham hock, yolk-porn worthy poached eggs, basil pesto and lovely hollandaise sauce.

photo 2 (2) [640x480]P.Diddy’s Polenta Fritters pales in comparison.  I tried a bit and didn’t mind it I suppose, but the ham hock on the eggs benny just blew my mind so this was like, meh, it was good.

photo 4 (2) [640x480]I of course couldn’t resist ordering the sweet dish.  French toast with strawberries, honey mascarpone and roasted peaches is da bomb.  Sure I shouldn’t really be having honey or peaches but what the hell, YOLO right?  It was yumgasmic.  The mascarpone actually tasted more vanilla beany than honey, which is fine with me.  OMG I am salivating.  MUST. GO. BACK.  NOW.  (Dammit it’s 9pm…)

photo 5 (2) [640x480]Here’s another picture just in case you didn’t feel jealous the first time round.  There you go, NOW you should be feeling jealous.  Oh yeah.  Needless to say, this is fast becoming my favourite place.  Hidden laneway. Check.  Cooler than cool space.  Check.  Friendly waitress/ waiter.  Check.  Fabulous food.  Check.  Quinessentially Melbourne.  Oh yeah.  9/10
