Cat Ba Island of Halong Bay, Day 2

photo 2 [800x600]On our second day of the Halong Bay cruise we did a cycling tour of Cat Ba Island, well, not mum and I personally, cos we can’t cycle to save our lives, we walked up Cat Ba Island with a guide.  Cat Ba Island is where Au Co Cruise gets their vegies for our delicious food on the cruise.  I think the owners decided to invest on this little island and educate them with farming skills.  Because Hubby and P.Daddy went cycling, they get to visit the farm whereas P.Mummy and I only got to walk up to the farm and walk back down again.

It was an enjoyable walk nonetheless until we had to climb through this massive construction in between machines.  I thought there were some health and safety issues there and even the cycling tour had to do the same thing!  So glad I didn’t have to climb over these boulders with a bike!  The little bits of rock kept tumbling down also… 😐

After sunset, AuCo cruise put up an amazing street food BBQ for us and we really went for it- BBQ oysters, prawns, fish, squid, meats, huge amounts of salads which I ignore (hello!  Of course the Asian in me went for the seafood first) and tons of desserts.  Sorry I didn’t take any pics cos everyone went absolutely apesh!t trying to stuff as much food as they can on the plates.  It was an awesome night.
