KFC, and here I mean Korean Fried Chicken and increasingly, Korean food, has become a huge hit in Melbourne as of late and newspapers, online mags and real mags all scrambled to do a “hit list” of Korean eats featuring fried chicken. Chick In was in one of those hit list and since it was fairly close to work, we decided to try it.
Chick In is situated in one of the busy laneways just off Collins St, a long narrow shop with long narrow communal tables. I of course ordered the KFC wings, spicy, with rice $9.
The KFC tasted ok, wasn’t spicy enough though. It was a bit dry as well and more sauce for the rice would have been better. To be honest, I think KFC in other places would be better, like the original KFC, Gami Chicken, or Soolzip.
Gordo was even more unimpressed with his tiny lunch. As you can see it looked a bit mediocre and it didn’t taste that great either. Sadness.
I might give it another chance once they are more established, hopefully they will get better after I come back from my four month hiatus in Hong Kong! 5/10
